Jharkhand Assembly elections: Election Commission to hold meeting with CS, DGP in Ranchi today

Ranchi, Sep 22: With the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections approaching, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to visit Ranchi for a two-day review starting Monday, September 23. The visit aims to assess the readiness for the elections, with the Model Code of Conduct expected to be implemented soon.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with the other two Election Commissioners, will be part of the team. On Monday, the team is scheduled to meet with Jharkhand’s chief secretary (CS) and director general of police (DGP) at 5 PM.

Earlier in the day, the commission will hold a meeting with representatives from various political parties, followed by a 2 PM meeting with officials from 21 enforcement agencies.

Later in the evening the Election Commission team will meet with the Chief Electoral Officer and Nodal Officers to review the situation.

On Tuesday, September 24, the team will hold discussions with zonal IGs, DIGs, divisional commissioners, and district-level officials, including SPs and DCs. This meeting will take place from 9 AM to 2 PM.
