Jharkhand Assembly budget session from February 24, Speaker issues guidelines to officials

Ranchi: Preparations for the Jharkhand Assembly budget session are in full swing, with Speaker Rabindranath Mahato holding a crucial meeting on Wednesday to ensure the smooth conduct of proceedings. The budget session is set to begin on February 24 and will continue until February 27.

During the meeting, Speaker Mahato instructed officials from various departments to compile and submit answers to all queries raised during the session. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the presence of senior officials from all departments, stating, “Ministers must have immediate access to updated information while responding to queries related to their departments.”

Additionally, Mahato has called for a high-level meeting on February 21, which will be attended by leaders of various parties, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Ministers Deepak Birua, Chamra Linda, Ramdas Soren, Yogendra Prasad and Sudivya Kumar have been assigned responsibilities for different departments.

The session will commence with the Governor’s address and swearing-in of new members. A debate on the address will take place from February 25-27, followed by the presentation of the third supplementary budget on February 28. The state budget for 2025-26 will be presented by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore on March 3.
