Jharkhand Andolankari Day to honor Jaipal Singh Munda on birth anniversary

Ranchi: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda on January 3, 2024, the Jharkhand Andolankari Sangharsh Morcha (JASM) has announced the celebration of “Jharkhand Andolankari Day.” A grand event is scheduled to take place at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium (Kachhari Road), Ranchi, where 100 Jharkhand agitators will be honored.

The festivities will commence at 12 noon, starting with a procession from Albert Ekka Chowk to the stadium, accompanied by a cultural group. The program will feature the laying of a wreath at the statue of Jaipal Singh Munda, with a spotlight on his biography. Cultural performances, led by Padmashree Mukund Nayak and folk singer Seema Devi, will further enrich the celebration.

Pushkar Mahato, the Morcha’s founder cum principal secretary, shared that the event aims to emphasize the significance of January 3 as an official day of protest in Jharkhand. The program is anticipated to be celebrated with grandeur not only in Ranchi but also in North East Assam. The Morcha intends to use this occasion to voice their demand for the government to officially declare January 3 as Jharkhand Protest Day.
