Jamshedpur, August 25: The 15th Annual English elocution Contest was held at J.H.Tarapore School on Wednesday. The Chief Guest for the evening was Rubina Bodhanwala, Managing Trustee, Tarapore Schools. The Students were categorized into four groups.
Group A comprised the individual elocution for class VI and VII. The first prize in this category was won by Kyana Virdi , the second prize was won by Haiqua Ashraf and the third prize was won by Devyani Singh.
Group B comprised students of class IX and X. They delivered speeches of famous personalities. The first prize was won by Shefali Jha, the second prize was won by Karishma and the third prize was won by Vasundhra Singh. Ambrisha Jubeen and Aman Saleha were awarded participation certificates.
Group C consisted of ‘Ted Talk-motivational speeches’, by the students of class XI and XII. The first prize was won by Kajal Kumari, the second prize was won by Tanya Banerjee and the third prize was won by P.S.S Harika. Saniya Raza and Pallavi Kar were awarded participation certificates.
Group D consisted of ‘Dramatization of Poems’ by students of Std VIII. The children enacted poems like ‘The frog and the Nightingale’, ‘The Queen’s Rival’, and ‘God’s Judgement on a wicked Bishop’.
It was a spectacular display of dramatic and oratory skills. The winner was Std 8’A’ (The Frog and the Nightingale) and the best actor award was given to Frog (Arundhati Lal). In this category Std VIII ‘A’ won the first Prize.
