Jamshedpur: A grand Nishan Shobha Yatra was taken out in city on Thursday on the first day of 12th Jeen Mata annual festival under the aegis of Sri Jeen Mata Parivar, Jamshedpur. Hundreds of devotees of Goddess Jeen Mata participated in the religious procession which was taken out from Shiv Mandir, Sakchi, in the evening. Four couples sat for Nishan Puja in the presence of four priests.
The Nishan Yatra moved through Sakchi market and reached Sri Jeen Mata temple in Golmuri via Kasidih and Sitaramdera. A decorated chariot carried Goddess Jeen Mata.
Local bhajan singers Manoj Sharma and Sunita Bhardwaj sang various religious songs and bhajans throughout the procession. The devotees, too, danced to the music all through the way. Firecrackers were also burnt on this occasion.
Earlier, the Nishan Yatra was inaugurated by DSP traffic Vivekanand Thakur and social workers Arun Bankrewal and Mohan Lal Agrawal. Many other dignitaries were present during the inauguration. They included Bajrang Lal Agrawal, Mahabir Moonka, Shambhu Khanna, Natwar Singhania, Tulsi Khemka, Ratan Bhoutika, Pramod Khanna, Manish Khanna, Ashish Khanna, Sanjay Agrawal, Raju Sharma and Sunil Debuka.
