JD(U) Women’s Wing of Jamshedpur Asked to Focus on Grassroots Issues: Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy, MLA from Jamshedpur West, on Tuesday urged the newly appointed office-bearers of the Janata Dal (United) Women’s Wing to actively champion women-centric issues at the grassroots level, saying consistent engagement would strengthen both society and the organisation.

Addressing a felicitation programme for the new office-bearers at his residence-cum-office in Bistupur, Roy said focused work on even a single issue every week could deliver visible results over time.

“This is the era of social media, where ideas and initiatives spread rapidly. If you work sincerely on issues that truly matter to women, the impact will be felt far and wide,” he said.

Call to Expand Women’s Participation

Roy encouraged women leaders to connect with like-minded women and bring them into the party fold. “Those who share your vision will gradually become the strength of the organisation,” he noted, stressing the importance of building a strong support base at the local level.

He also underlined the need for balance between public life and personal responsibilities. “Round-the-clock activism is not necessary unless a major issue requires focused attention. Family responsibilities come first, but people in your area should know that you are associated with JD(U) and that their concerns can reach the leadership through you,” Roy said.

Leaders Stress Outreach and Organisation

Earlier, Kolhan in-charge of the JD(U) Women’s Wing Manju Singh and Jamshedpur Mahanagar president Usha Yadav shared their views on strengthening the party structure and expanding its outreach among women.

The programme was attended by East Singhbhum district president Subodh Srivastava, Jamshedpur Mahanagar president Ajay Kumar, East Singhbhum Women’s Wing president Amrita Mishra, Youth Wing president Neeraj Singh, along with Mamta Singh, Putul Singh, Sapna Tandi, Pooja Mahanand, Savita Mahanand, Reena Dey, Jaya, Kavita Mishra, Rinki, Malika and several other women activists.

Party leaders said the interaction reinforced JD(U)’s focus on strengthening women’s participation in organisational and social initiatives across East Singhbhum.
