Jamshedpur: Highlighting the struggles of remote rural areas, the East Singhbhum unit of Janata Dal (United) (JDU) demonstrated its commitment to public interest on Tuesday. A party delegation submitted a detailed memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, demanding immediate action to resolve the grassroots issues plaguing approximately 90 villages in the Dumaria block.
District General Secretary Birsingh Devgam led the delegation, which cataloged the grievances of residents in villages including Jangal Block, Lango, Marotolia, Punasibad, Manikpur, Kaliamkoya, Bakuchanda, Kundaluka, Dibudih, and Bhagabandi.
Neglect of Basic Infrastructure
The memorandum explicitly states that the Dumaria block continues to lack fundamental amenities despite multiple government schemes. JDU leaders pointed out that irregular power supply, dilapidated roads, and a severe shortage of water towers for drinking water have crippled daily life. Furthermore, the region suffers from a weak education system and extremely limited healthcare facilities. The lack of reliable ambulance services and mobile network connectivity creates life-threatening situations for villagers during emergencies.
Demands for Priority Development
The JDU leadership urged the administration to conduct a special survey of all villages within the Dumaria block to initiate development work on a priority basis. Their specific demands include:

District President Subodh Srivastava, Sagen Devgam, Upendra Kumar Singh, Jawahar Lal Tudu, and Biraspati Karmakar were among the prominent party workers present during the submission.
