JCI spreads menstrual hygiene message

Jamshedpur: JCI Jamshedpur Royals members as part a social awareness programme on Tuesday visited Hitku village in Sundarnagar.

Earlier, the eight member team launched a signature campaign at Bistupur aimed at

spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene.

As May 28 is celebrated as World Menstrual Hygiene Day, JCI-JR spread awareness about menstrual hygiene and diseases related to it and use of sanitary napkins.

The team members also distributed sanitary pads to 90 ladies to make them aware about the menstrual hygiene and how one can avoid falling prey to diseases.

A team member of JCI- JR said, “We are focusing on to eliminate myths related to menstruation present in many societies which impact girls. People should not treat it as taboo but instead, should be more sensitive and respectful towards it. He urged the villagers to use sanitary napkins”.

Locals were very grateful to the members of JCI as they explained everything to them with so much care and affection. Members present on the occasion were Tara Kishor Agarwal, Sandeep Agarwal, Gaurav Sah, Vishal Agarwal, Vikash Agarwal, Gitesh Singhal, Rahul Bhalotia and Anant Moonka.
