Ranchi, April 19:Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning, Amit Khare on Wednesday said that in order to promote digital payment in Jharkhand, the state government is giving cash back on online payment of electricity bills.
After its approval from Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission, this facility will be started on online payment of electricity bills, said the Addl. CS during a meeting of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL).
‘1% of the total bill amount or maximum Rs 50 cash back will be received by the consumer on online payment of each electricity bills’, said Khare, adding, ‘This will also promote regular bill payment and cash received can be used for payment of next electricity bill as it will remain valid for 50 days’.
He informed that 25% LT consumers will be benefited from this scheme.
