Jamshedpur, Dec 5: A delegation from the Jharkhand Basketball Association (JBA), led by Secretary and International Basketball Coach JP Singh, met Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy and congratulated him on spectacular electoral victory.
During the meeting, Sachin, a member of the JBA, formally requested MLA to take up the position of Chief Patron of the Association, to which the MLA agreed. In his address, Secretary JP Singh highlighted Jamshedpur’s potential as a sports city with abundant basketball talent. He emphasized the need for more resources, training, and support to polish and nurture these talents. Singh expressed confidence that with the MLA’s backing, new basketball academies and training institutes could be established, leading to the emergence of national and international-level players from the region.
MLA Saryu Roy assured the delegation of his continued support for the development of basketball in the state. He commended the efforts of the JBA in promoting the sport and expressed his best wishes for its future endeavors.
Also present at the meeting were JBA’s Chief Technical Officer Mohammad Arif Aftab, Jalal Sheikh, Shyam Kumar Sharma, and other association members.
