Jamshedpur, April 1: Devotees were left deeply moved on the second day of the Nani Bai Ro Mayro religious discourse held in Sakchi, as renowned spiritual orator Jaya Kishori delivered a heartfelt narration from the Vyas Peeth.

With her captivating voice, she elaborated on the episode of the Kumkum Patrika, the journey of saint Narsi Mehta to Anjar, and his divine meeting with Lord Krishna. The poignant depiction of Nani Bai’s hardships and her unwavering faith in God left the audience emotionally overwhelmed.

Jaya Kishori explained that the tradition of sending the Kumkum Patrika symbolised an invitation for Mayra (ceremonial offering), sent to Narsi Mehta, father of Nani Bai. She highlighted how, without any worldly concerns, Narsi Mehta set out for Anjar, placing complete trust in the divine.

In a spiritually uplifting narration, she described how Lord Krishna blessed Narsi Mehta with the Kedar Raag and a Tulsi garland, assuring him of his divine presence whenever the raag would be sung. She also recounted the miraculous episode where Lord Krishna, in the guise of a carpenter, repaired Narsi Mehta’s bullock cart and guided him safely to his destination.

Through the devotional bhajan “Gaadi Mein Bitha Le Re Baba…”, she conveyed the message that God always bears the burden of His true devotees. Emphasising pure devotion and steadfast faith, she inspired attendees to walk the path of bhakti with complete surrender.
The three-day discourse is being organised by Narayani Seva Trust at the Chandulal Ashok Kumar Bhalotia Hall near Bodhi Temple Ground in Sakchi and will conclude on April 2.

The session began with traditional rituals performed by the hosts, with priest Abhishek Tiwari from Kolkata conducting the puja.

The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of over 3,000 devotees, filling the entire venue. On the concluding day, Jaya Kishori will narrate the sacred union of Nani Bai and Narsi Mehta, along with the divine episode of Lord Krishna and Rukmini participating in the Mayra ceremony.

Several members of the organising committee played key roles in ensuring the success of the event.
