Japan Consul General interacts with Hill Top students

Jamshedpur: The Consul General of Japan Masayuki Taga visited Hill Top School on Thursday and interacted with the senior students.

During his address he traced the history of India�s friendship with Japan which is more than 1000 years old. He marveled at the religious connect between the two countries.

Taga outlined the importance of the role that India played in Japan�s Economic growth from importing Indian cotton to cater to the textile industry, to iron, as a basis for steel manufacturing.

He mentioned how he loved being at Hill Top School and was desirous of seeing more Indian students opting for higher studies in Japan.

The Principal Puneeta B. Chouhan and the students expressed their willingness to participate in more such cultural and academic exchanges to facilitate collaborative learning between the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that Taga has served at the Embassies of Japan in India, Nepal, Ireland and South West Asia division in Tokyo and has also been the first Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in India. He has been posted in Kolkata since 2016.
