Jamshedpur: The 14th Jharkhand Armed Police Sports Meet was organized at JAP 6 Unit, Sidhgora, under the leadership of Sangeeta Kumari, Commandant of JAP 6 on Sunday.
The chief guest of the programme was Ashwini Kumar, General Manager, TSPDL, Jamshedpur, while the special guest was Sudhir Kumar Jha, DIG, JAP Ranchi. A number of other dignitaries from across the city were also present on the occasion.
They included ace archer Deepika Kumari, archer cum trainer Purnima Mahato and renowned mountaineer Premlata Agrawal and Divisional Manager of TSPDL Shekhar Jha.
The winners of various sports events organized today were felicitated by the guests who handed medals and shields to the participants and encouraged them.
The events held today included football, hockey, basketball, volley ball, kabaddi, handball, wrestling, gymnastics, boxing, archery, athletics, cross country race and marathon.
Several senior police officials present during the programme included SP City (Jamshedpur) Prashant Anand, SP Rural Shailendra Kumar Barnwal, JAP 6 DSP Faiz Akram, DSP Sakaldeo Ram, DSP Ajay Kumar Pandey, JAP 10 commandant Sandhya Rani Mehta and Inspector Upendra Mishra.
