Jamshedpur, May 22: The Birsanagar police acting on complaints lodged by local residents raided a house in Pradhan Colony of Zone # 3 of the locality on Friday late night and nabbed three men and three girls in a compromising position and took them away to the police station for questioning. The police also seized a car and a motorcycle parked near the house. The six persons were produced in court on Saturday and sent to judicial custody.

According to reports, the local residents of Zone # 3 in Birsanagar had complained to the police about prostitution being carried out in the house. In their complaint they stated that outsiders regularly visited the house. Based on their complaints the Birsanagar police raided the house late night on Friday and took the six persons to the police station for questioning and later arrested them. However, initially, the police were giving vague information on the incident. An official of the Birsanagar police station stated that the call records of the mobile phones belonging to the three men were checked but the contact numbers of the three girls were not found in the call records. The contention was that if the allegation of prostitution was true then the corresponding numbers of the girls would have been traced in the call records of the three men’s mobile phones. When the three girls and three men were confined in the Birsanagar police station on Friday night, a huge crowd had gathered outside.

ASP Kumar Gaurav informed that flesh trade was going on in the Birsanagar road # 3 house. He said that the police raided the house on receiving complaints from the local residents. The ASP informed that the landlord and tenant of the house were being questioned to ascertain their involvement in the flesh trade as alleged.
