Jamshedpur’s Zaira, Adhiraj, and Dishita crowned winners at Jharkhand Chess Championship

Hazaribagh/Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand State Under-9 and Under-13 Boys and Girls Chess Championship was held at Naman Vidyalaya, Hazaribagh, from March 25 to 27. The tournament saw participation from young chess enthusiasts across the state, competing for top honors in their respective categories.

In the Under-9 Boys category, Aadvik Bhusan from Hazaribagh and Rian Rohal Gollapali from East Singhbhum secured the top two positions, both scoring 5.5 points. Rudranil Roy from East Singhbhum finished third with 5 points. A total of 35 players competed in this category.

The Under-9 Girls category was dominated by Jamshedpur players, with Zaira Ahmad, Naira Aditya, and T. Niharika all scoring 5 points. Anisha Kumari followed closely with 4.5 points. The category saw participation from 23 young players.

In the Under-13 Boys category, Adhiraj Mitra from Jamshedpur clinched the title with 5.5 points, followed by Arijit Ghosh with 5 points. Aarav Raj Mehta from Ranchi secured third place with 4.5 points. A total of 59 players participated in this group.

The Under-13 Girls category was equally competitive, with Dishita Dey and Navieka Jaiswal, both from Jamshedpur, scoring 5.5 points each to claim the top spots.

Monali Biswas finished third with 4.5 points, while Soujanya Subhashini Pal and Kaavya Mandal, both from East Singhbhum, followed with 4 points each.

A total of 25 players competed in this category.

The championship showcased the remarkable talent of young chess players in Jharkhand, with East Singhbhum emerging as a dominant force in the competition.
