Jamshedpur’s Smikhi clinches gold in 13th South Asia Yoga meet

Jamshedpur, August 28: It was a field day for Yoga star couple, Smikhi and Guru Anshu Sarkar at the 13^th South Asia Yogasana Championship organized in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu.

Smikhi Sarkar clinched the Gold medal in the women’s segment. Anshu Sarkar has proved his Yoga mettle with every outing across the country and other international shores. His reputation received another shot-in-the-arm when he was honoured with the prestigious South Asia Yogi Excellence Award – 2023 at the same event to add to his overflowing showcase of glittering trophies with the imprint of Yoga Guru embossed on them. The competition was organized on August 26, 2023, by the Yoga Sports Federation of Asia and the Yoga and Cultural Arts Center. A total of 364 participants took part in the event, and the Sarkar couple were honored with this recognition and award. The awards were presented by the organizing committee’s President Yogi Mahendra Bhai Bhattaraj and Secretary Dr Jit Shankar Nath. Several other officials of the organizing bodies who were present on the occasion included Churamani Kharki, Secretary of the Nepal Yoga Council and Dr Loknath Nath.

With the fresh laurels attained at the 13^th South Asia Yogasana Championship organized in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu, Smikhi and Anshu Sarkar added to the pride of the city and entire Jharkhand.
