Jamshedpur, October 21: The highly anticipated first match of the hockey series between India and Germany will be played at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 23. Following their intense encounter at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Germany secured the silver and India took bronze, these two hockey powerhouses are set to meet again.
With the world champion German team facing off against the Asian Championship gold medalists, India, the matches promise to be thrilling. The games will be held on October 23 and 24, with live radio broadcasts starting at 3 PM.
International sports commentator Shahid Anwar from Jamshedpur will provide Hindi commentary for the match on October 23. Known for his expertise in cricket, kabaddi, basketball, and other sports, this will mark Anwar’s debut as a hockey commentator. He was recently selected as a national-grade hockey commentator during a screening by All India Radio, Delhi, and the Department of Sports in Odisha.
