Jamshedpur: Starting April 1, all government primary and high schools will transition to a new summer schedule. Following a directive from the Department of School Education and Literacy, classes will now run from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, replacing the current 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM slot. This change applies to both primary and secondary levels.
Several private schools are also shifting to summer hours beginning April 1. Most private institutions will begin operations at 6:30 AM. To manage logistics, individual schools may adjust their specific arrival and dismissal times by 10 to 15 minutes based on their local needs.
This decision follows a formal request from the All Jharkhand Primary Teachers’ Association. The association wrote to the Department of School Education and Literacy urging a schedule change to protect students and staff from the rising seasonal temperatures.
