Jamshedpur: National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur took a significant step toward enhancing campus healthcare by inaugurating a state-of-the-art Centre for Pathology at its Institute Health Centre. Director Prof. Goutam Sutradhar formally opened the facility before an audience of faculty, staff, students, and distinguished guests.
The new centre strengthens the institute’s diagnostic capabilities by providing the campus community with timely, accurate pathology services. With its modern laboratory infrastructure, the facility offers a wide range of diagnostic tests, ensuring students and staff enjoy better access to essential medical care.

During his address, Prof. Sutradhar emphasized that accessible healthcare remains vital to a thriving academic environment. He noted that the centre reflects the institute’s commitment to holistic well-being and argued that reliable on-campus diagnostics will foster a healthier, more productive learning ecosystem.
Medical Officer Dr. Abhay Kumar pointed out that the Centre for Pathology reduces the need for external referrals for routine tests. He explained that this shift saves time and ensures patients receive continuous care without leaving campus.
Dr. M.A. Hassan and Registrar Prof. S.K. Sarangi also spoke at the event, stressing the importance of robust institutional health infrastructure. They praised the initiative as a timely addition that addresses both the preventive and curative healthcare needs of the entire NIT community.
