Jamshedpur: Sakchi Mahila Thana is all set to undergo a significant transformation aimed at improving its infrastructure and providing better services to both the complainants and police personnel. The revamp will include a thorough cleaning, a fresh coat of paint, and the addition of several new facilities to create a more functional and welcoming environment.
SSP’s inspection leads to action plan
The planned upgrades come after a detailed inspection by District SSP Kishore Kaushal, who identified various issues within the police station. Following this, a comprehensive action plan has been formulated to address these concerns. One of the key improvements will be the establishment of a counseling room for women. Moreover, enhancements will be made to the waiting hall, and the overall record-keeping facilities will also be upgraded. The roof of the building, which had previously leaked during rains, has already been repaired.
SSP Kaushal emphasized the importance of creating an environment that is not only functional but also comfortable for the staff and the public. He noted, “We aim to make this space more efficient and accessible, ensuring that it meets the needs of both our personnel and visitors.”
Special focus on women-complainants
In addition to the general improvements, several new measures will be introduced specifically for women complainants. A dedicated counseling room will be created to offer confidential services and support for women. To ensure complainants have a comfortable place to sit while waiting, ten chairs will be installed in the waiting area. A feeding room will also be set up for complainants who arrive with small children, ensuring they have a comfortable space while they wait. Moreover, a separate seating room will be allocated exclusively for female complainants, offering them both comfort and privacy during their visit to the police station.
Sanitation and toilet facilities
A critical issue at the Mahila Thana has been the lack of proper toilet facilities, causing discomfort for both complainants and female staff members. This problem will soon be addressed with the construction of dedicated toilets on the premises.
With these improvements, Sakchi Mahila Thana is on its way to becoming a more efficient, women-friendly space, ensuring better service delivery and a more welcoming atmosphere for all those who visit.
