6th edition of Indian Golf Union Jharkhand Amateur & Junior Open 2023 concludes
Jamshedpur, May 18: The 6th edition of Indian Golf Union (IGU) Jharkhand Amateur & Junior Open 2023 concluded at Golmuri Golf Cours, Jamshedpur on Thursday. DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials Division, Tata Steel and Jamshedpur Golf Captain graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with RN Murthy, Managing Director, Tinplate and Chairmain, Golmuri Golf Club and Farzan Heerjee, Vice President, Indian Golf Union.
Speaking on the occasion, DB Sundara Ramam said, “Golf as a Sport teaches one to be highly focussed and disciplined. I am happy to see so many young children participate in this year’s tournament.” He congratulated the winners and wished all budding golfers a bright future. He also lauded the efforts of Indian Golf Union for driving the golf at the grassroot level.

On a similar note, RN Murthy, Managing Director, Tinplate and Chairmain, Golmuri Golf Club applauded the efforts of the IGU.
In the 2-day event, more than 41 players in age group of 7 years to 60 years participated.
Individuals participated under different age category and in a closely contested match Jamshedpur’s Pratham Chaudhary clinched the top position at the IGU Jharkhand Amateur Open Category with scores of 137. Abhishek Mitra secured the runners up position with score of 152. The IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour began which began in 2018 has added young stars to the galaxy of Pro Golfers at national and international levels.

14 events are held at the various golf courses in Eastern India. Top performers in the order of merit are invited to participated in the IGU’s Gentleman’s Tour.
The event was organised under the leadership of Farzan Heerjee, Vice President, Indian Golf Union. Heerjee in his concluding remarks thanked DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials Division, Tata Steel and Jamshedpur Golf Captain for taking out time to encourage the generation next of Golf players and lauded the arrangements made by Golmuri Golf Club during the tournament. He specially thanked RN Murthy, Managing Director, Tinplate and Chairmain, Golmuri Golf Club for all his support.
