Jamshedpur’s National Chess Coach Jayant Kumar Bhuyan donates blood for 125th time, honoured

Jamshedpur, April 25: Jayant Kumar Bhuyan reached a remarkable milestone by donating blood for the 125th time at the Jamshedpur Blood Centre. His journey as a blood donor began in 1983, inspired by the late S.P. Trivedi, who lived near his residence. Trivedi’s influence also inspired Surendra Kumar Jha and Shashank Shekher, both centurion donors who continue to donate regularly.

Bhuyan was felicitated at the centre in the presence of his wife Sucheta, daughter Aastha, Surendra Kumar Jha, and HOD Sanjay Choudhury. Jha presented him with a shawl, while Choudhury handed over a memento in recognition of his selfless service.

Beyond his humanitarian work, Bhuyan has been associated with chess for over four decades and currently serves as an International Chess Arbiter and National Chess Coach. The local chess community including Narendra Kumar Tiwary, Gen. Secretary, East Singhbhum District Chess Association also extended heartfelt congratulations on his achievement.
