JNAC and Food Safety Department Crack Down on Unhygienic Restaurants, Fines Imposed

Jamshedpur: In a major crackdown on food safety and hygiene violations, a joint team from the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and the Food Safety Department conducted a surprise inspection campaign at popular eateries in the Bistupur area.

During the drive, the joint team inspected Madrasi Hotel and Ashirwad Hotel, uncovering severe negligence regarding cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.

Surprise Inspection Triggers Panic

According to sources, the moment the management of Madrasi Hotel caught wind of the ongoing inspections at Ashirwad Hotel, they scrambled to initiate emergency cleaning operations. However, their eleventh-hour efforts failed to conceal the deep-seated unsanitary conditions.

Key Findings by the Inspection Team:

• Kitchen Filth: The inspection team expressed deep displeasure over the visible dirt and lack of basic sanitation inside the kitchens and surrounding cooking areas of both hotels.
• Accumulated Waste: Upon inspecting the vacant spaces directly behind both establishments, officials discovered a massive accumulation of garbage and waste material.
• Regulatory Non-Compliance: Officials strongly condemned the open defiance of standard food safety regulations, labeling the unhygienic conditions as a severe hazard to public health.

Strict Action and Fine Imposed

Taking immediate punitive action for violating established food safety norms, the department slapped a fine of ₹5,000 each on the operators of both Madrasi Hotel and Ashirwad Hotel.

The authorities issued a stern warning to the management of both establishments against any future negligence, directing them to immediately implement necessary infrastructural improvements and adhere strictly to hygiene guidelines.
