Jamshedpur’s Kunal Sharangi honored with International Youth Icon Award in the USA

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Former legislator and BJP Jharkhand Spokesperson, Kunal Sharangi, was honored with the International Youth Icon Award in Chicago, USA. The Chicago unit of the Federation of Indians Association (FIA) confirmed this award vide an email inviting Kunal Sharangi to Chicago. Kunal was honored during the Republic Day celebration on Monday.

The Federation of Indians Association recognized Kunal Sharangi for his significant and commendable contributions in the fields of education, health, and social welfare for the youth of Jharkhand under his special initiative. The award was presented to him by Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, during the ceremony organized at the Chicago Matrix Club.

Several dignitaries including Sunil Shah, Chairman of the Federation of Indian Association 2024, President Pratibha Jayrath, and Vineeta Gulabani, were present at the event. The ceremony also saw the presence of numerous accomplished Indian residents of Chicago who had received acclaim in various fields. Indian origin scientists, doctors, athletes, musicians, and others who had achieved recognition and success in varied fields of pursuit in different countries were honored at the event.

Scholarships were provided to dozens of talented students residing in various countries. Addressing the ceremony, Kunal Sharangi expressed his gratitude for the honor and dedicated it to the people of Jamshedpur and the residents of Jharkhand. He acknowledged the inspiration he received to serve during the COVID period and thanked all those who supported him in his mission during those challenging times.

Kunal said, “I dedicate this esteemed recognition to the people of Jharkhand. I am grateful to all who joined shoulders with me in serving people during the trying COVID times. I am so proud of my country and countrymen residing in India and abroad who, by dint of sheer talent in various streams have evoked esteem and recognition worldwide. I feel privileged to state that more than forty lakh Indians living in America have had a broad impact on cultural, economic, political, and social systems.”

Kunal highlighted the excellent state of India-US relations and praised the recognition and encouragement received for the work done by Indian social workers in America. He expressed confidence that the participation of youth will increase in American politics in the future. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for India becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy and progressing towards becoming a global leader.
