Jamshedpur, Feb 5: After years of delay, the long-pending traffic signal at Karandih Chowk was formally inaugurated on Thursday, bringing much-needed relief to thousands of commuters. Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar switched on the signal following traditional prayers, marking the fulfillment of a long-standing public demand.
The commissioning of the traffic signal is the result of sustained and focused efforts by MLA Sanjib Sardar.

With the signal now operational, traffic movement at the busy Karandih intersection is expected to become smoother, safer, and more regulated.
Karandih has long struggled with heavy traffic congestion, causing daily inconvenience to local residents, schoolchildren, workers, and pedestrians. Frequent traffic jams not only led to delays but also increased the risk of accidents. The new signal system is set to ease congestion, reduce mishaps, and save valuable time for daily commuters.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Sanjib Sardar said that public welfare remains his top priority.

He stated that the Karandih traffic signal was a legitimate and long-pending demand of the people, and its implementation was essential to ensure a safe and organized traffic system.
He highlighted that thousands of workers travel daily through this route to Tata companies, while hundreds of students commute to the city for education.

With the signal in place, they will no longer be forced to endure long hours stuck in traffic jams. He also assured that development and public utility projects would continue across the Potka assembly constituency.
