Jamshedpur The Jugsalai Municipal Council is planning to construct four community halls across different wards to facilitate social and religious gatherings. The municipal staff is actively searching for government land, with assistance from the Zonal Officer to identify suitable locations.
Once the land is acquired, a proposal will be sent to the Urban Development Department for approval. The initiative aims to address a long-standing issue, as Jugsalai, despite its 100-year history, lacks a single community building.
“Since the formation of the Jugsalai Notified Area Committee in 1924, schools and hospitals were developed, but a community hall was never built. With a population of over 48,000, residents are forced to use private buildings for family and religious events,” said an official.
Executive Officer Sandeep Paswan urged the community to cooperate in land identification, stating, “The facility of a community hall will be provided once land is available. Local residents should assist the Nagar Parishad in this regard so that the new facility can be started at the earliest.”
The initiative is expected to significantly benefit residents, providing them with dedicated spaces for cultural and social functions, reducing their reliance on privately owned venues.
