Jamshedpur, March 31: The murder of international para badminton player Prashant Kumar Sinha took another turn with the arrest of his girlfriend Kajal Suman and her lover Raunak Kumar. The police disclosed that Kajal, along with Raunak, allegedly murdered Prashant and disposed of his body beneath the Chhadwa Dam in Hazaribagh.
SSP Kishore Kaushal stated that during interrogation, Kajal confessed to her involvement in the crime, stating that she had befriended Prashant in 2019 through Facebook, leading to a romantic relationship. Prashant had allegedly borrowed money from several individuals under false pretenses. There was an altercation between Prashant and Kajal over money matters that led to a confrontation between both on March 11. Following the altercation, Prashant was reportedly strangled to death, and his body was concealed in a sack and thrown into the Chhadwa Dam. Prompted by a complaint filed by Prashant’s mother, the police initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of Kajal and subsequent discovery of the body with the assistance of Hazaribagh Police.
Both Kajal and Raunak have been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues into the incident.
