Jamshedpur, Feb 27: The city will soon have its very own dedicated cycling track. The first of its kind track in the city is being developed on airport road in Sonari connecting CH Area. The 1 kilometre cycle track is being developed by Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited. The track is expected to be ready in the next two months. In its next phase, the company is planning on making similar cycle tracks in different locations. Senior GM (Jamshedpur Town Operation), Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited Dhananjay Mishra informed during his visit to Chandigarh he got the idea to have a similar track in the city. The idea is to make people continue with cycling, together to have a united feeling. With growing passion about fitness in the Steel City, cycling has brought together the young and old to pedal long and wide across the city.
It may be noted that Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (formerly Jusco) had developed 1.5km-long cycle track along Jugsalai-Bistupur main road couple of years back but the same have been encroached by tyre vendors near the Jugsalai Railway Crossing.
This is a lovely Gift to the residents of Jamshedpur. Looking forward to the day when we will be able to use this facility
