Jamshedpur, Oct 19: The pandal gates of Jairam Youth Sporting Club of Adityapur were opened on Sunday but the entry points have been barricaded as no outsider will be allowed inside the pandal. This pandal had been a must visit point for pandal hoppers but this year will be the first time in its 40 year history that it is shorn of all glitz in strict accordance with administrative guidelines.
However the idol of Goddess Durga made by artisans from West Bengal has 52 hands instead of the conventional 10 arms. The Clubs patron and former Ichagarh legislator Arvind Singh informed that outsiders would not be allowed entry inside the pandal. The committee will issue passes and only such pass holders would be allowed inside. He said, on earlier occasions the pandals used to be theme based with a height of approximately 80 feet and depth (length) of 50 feet. This year, he stated, due to restrictions, a cubicle measuring 20 ft X 22 ft has been made. No separate stage has been made. The committee has cut the pandal budget by 70 percent. All COVID control norms will be strictly put in place Arvind Singh said.
