Jamshedpur’s DSM School students drown at Babudih Ghat, one rescued

Jamshedpur, Oct 22: Tragedy struck as two minor boys drowned while taking a bath at the Babudih Ghat on the banks of river Subarnarekha under Sidhgora police station on Friday afternoon. Three of them were taking baths.

In the mishap, while one other was rescued, the other two remain beyond traceable.

The victims were identified as 17- year old Nitin Kumar and Ashish Kumar. They were students of class X at a Kashidih-based DSM school.

People present at the spot tried to save them soon after the incident but couldn’t, as they got carried away by strong water currents. Sources said that local people immediately informed the police who then rushed to the spot and started a search operation with the help of divers. The drowned children could not be traced till the time this story was written.

Police informed the NDRF team from Ranchi and they were expected to arrive at the spot soon.
