Jamshedpur’s Dr Nagendra Singh to provide free treatment to patients of five villages

Jamshedpur, July 6: A total of 226 patients from the Sabar community residing in Rangamatia, Kendua, Lakhaidih, Dampabera and Atanabera visited the free health checkup camp set up at Dumaria by surgeon Dr Nagendra Singh of Ganga Memorial Hospital.

During the checkup, 27 among them were found with diseases of serious nature. Some had stones, one had a tumour on the neck while a two year old child had an abnormally enlarged head. Surjamani Sabar had a painful tumour on her neck for the last 13 years due to which she had difficulty in eating. The tumour was surgically removed. 22 year old Rahni Sabar had stones removed from her kidney. Sonia Sabar, aged 57 years who had a cyst in her ovary had it removed successfully. Two year old Akash Sabar who has a larger than normal head (hydrocephalus) has been put on medicines under the supervision of a neurosurgeon and will be operated upon on completion of the medicinal course.

It may be mentioned that Dr Nagendra Singh is an eminent surgeon and is known for dispensing free treatment including surgeries for poor patients, arranging for their stay and food at the Ganga Memorial Hospital on Dimna Road in Mango and providing for their transport. Seeing the condition of the patients from the five villages at the Dumaria free health checkup camp, Dr Singh spontaneously decided to adopt these five Sabar villages and provide free treatment to patients whenever required.
