Jamshedpur’s DBMS English School switches to solar power

Jamshedpur, Dec. 19: DBMS English School took a major step towards shifting to Green Energy by installing a 100KW solar energy facility in their premises. This will replace conventional source of purchased power up to 140,000 kwh of power every year. This step will reduce carbon dioxide emission equivalent of 3500 tonnes and will be equal to planting 12000 fully grown trees. The unit was inaugurated by Tarun Daga, Managing Director, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL), formerly Jusco.

Daga seemed content that the school has taken an important step towards green energy and said our children should learn from this initiative. He also advised that we could generate more such energy in the near future if possible. B. Chandrashekhar, Jt. Chairperson (Finance) explained the financial benefits of the plant.  M/s. Solegix are the vendors for the unit and their Director Amit Ranjan explained the technical details by a power point presentation. 

B Neelakanran, Chairperson DBMS Trust, Mr.  and Mrs.  B. Chandra Shekhar, Jt Chairpersons, DBMS Trust, Archana Ramesh, Priya Nagarajan and  Shobana Senthil Kumar from School Management Committee and Rajni  Shekhar, Principal DBMS English school, and many others were present on the occasion.
