Jamshedpur, June 17: In the biggest slump in nearly 100 days, Jamshedpur’s daily Covid-19 cases dropped below 20 on Thursday.
The 14 fresh cases were the lowest since March 10, 2021 when 15 people had tested positive. During the second wave, the cases peaked to 1100.
City reported zero Covid casualties for second straight day on Thursday as the death toll remained at 1045.
With just 14 new Covid-19 cases, Jamshedpur’s positivity rate on Thursday remained below 1%, as the city stayed on the recovery path after a brutal wave of infections between April and May.
The positivity rate stood at 0.39% on Thursday. Jamshedpur also saw 35 people recover of the virus on Thursday.Active Covid-19 cases in the district has dropped down to 231 after 35 patients were discharged from hospitals and Covid care centres on Thursday. Of the 231 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur reported 14 new cases, which took its overall tally to 51,359.
More than 3500 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.39%.The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.
The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum has reached 1045 and the total cases 51359.
The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 0.39 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 3500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 3610 samples, of which, 14 turned out positive while 35 people recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.39 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 97.54% while the active cases have come down to 231.
35 positive people recovered of the virus on Thursday which took the recovery mark to 50083.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 380833 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 3610 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 14 were found positive.
