Jamshedpur, Nov 22: The number of daily new COVID-19 cases in Jamshedpur retreated on Sunday November 22 to the single-digit for the first time in months but health officials warned that the epidemic has yet to be completely contained.
East Singhbhum district recorded 5 positive cases and no death on Sunday.
5 positives took the Coronavirus positive tally to 16564. The death toll remained at 369 with no death reported in East Singhbhum district on Sunday.
Although Sunday’s figure was the lowest in months, health officials still cautioned against the COVID-19 spread as there are still asymptomatic patients in the community.
36 people recovered of the virus on Sunday taking the total recovery to 15952 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 243.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 130477 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 96% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.
So far in Jamshedpur 358591 samples have been collected out of which 347330 have been tested and 330766 have turned out to be negative.
On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in Jharkhand on Sunday reached 1,07,469 as 137 new cases of Covid-19 were detected while 272 people were discharged from various hospitals across the Jharkhand. During the day 5 deaths were reported as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 951.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 2289 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,04, 229. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 951. The recovery rate in Jharkhand is 96.98% while the mortality rate is 0.88 %.
