City records 784 new infections, 948 recoveries, 17 deaths
Jamshedpur, May 18: The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 5.56 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 7500 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 7796 samples, of which, 784 turned out positive while 948 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Tuesday, May 18.
Meanwhile, 17 deaths were recorded in the same duration. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 5.56 per cent, the government data showed.
The recovery rate has climbed to 90.77 % while the active cases have come down to 4159.
After a gap of couple of days, Jamshedpur again witness rise in the daily Covid-19 cases.
948 positive people recovered of the virus on Tuesday pushing the recovery mark to 42532.
Deaths due to the virus continue to be sign of worry as 17 people succumbed due to Covid on Tuesday, May 18, East Singhbhum Covid bulletin said.
City reported 17 deaths on Tuesday while district’s positive cases tally has mounted to 47640. According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on Tuesday 17 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The death toll has climbed to 949.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 321634 test per million in the district.
As per the records of health department out of 7796 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 784 were found positive.
Over 7500 COVID-19 tests, including 3463 RT-PCR and 3711 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.
The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 90.77% while the mortality rate is 1.99%.
So far in Jamshedpur 861466 amples have been collected out of which 856189 have been tested and 808549 have turned out to be negative.
