Jamshedpur’s Arbind Tiwary selected for prestigious Umang Fellowship

Jamshedpur: Arbind Tiwary, Principal of Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Tangrain, Potka, has been selected for the Umang Fellowship awarded by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

The fellowship, offered to only 50 teachers across India, includes 50 hours of specialised training aimed at strengthening social-emotional learning (SEL) practices in classrooms.

Under this fellowship, Tiwary will receive training to understand and implement the latest SEL framework, along with tools and classroom management strategies to create a joyful learning environment. The programme will also equip him with practices to balance his own well-being alongside that of his students and provide guidance to design and carry out an SEL project in his school.

The Umang Fellowship seeks to empower educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver higher quality education and nurture well-rounded development in children.

The selection of Arbind Tiwary has been hailed as a significant achievement and is expected to further enhance his contribution to innovative and inclusive teaching.
