Ranchi, July 12: Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, one of India’s premier educational institutions, is set to celebrate its 71st Foundation Day on July 15, 2025, along with the closing ceremony of its Platinum Jubilee year. A press conference held at the BIT Lalpur Center provided details of the upcoming events.
Dr. Shraddha Shivani (Dean, Alumni and International Relations), Vishal H. Shah (Associate Dean), and Mrinal Pathak (Head of the Media Cell) shared insights into the planned activities. As part of the celebration, a cultural evening for alumni would be held on July 14, featuring sitar recitals, ghazal performances, and Kathak dance.
Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, a distinguished alumnus of BIT and a well-known entrepreneur and thought leader, will grace the event as chief guest, while Professor Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi of IIT Kanpur, former Director of IIT Roorkee, will be the guest of honor.
The main event on July 15 will commence with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and BIT prayer, followed by a special award ceremony to recognize the contributions of faculty members, alumni, and B. Arch students. The event will mark a major milestone in BIT’s journey and will highlight its commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
