Jamshedpur: To mark International Biodiversity Day, the Jharkhand State Biodiversity Board organized a special awareness program at Palash Auditorium, Doranda in Ranchi, aimed at promoting biodiversity conservation and spreading public awareness.
During the event, photojournalist Anup Mishra was honored for securing first place in the Photography Competition – ‘FAUNA’ category. In recognition of his outstanding photographic talent and commitment to biodiversity, he received a cash prize of ₹5,000 and a certificate of merit, presented by Jharkhand Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari.
The event was graced by key dignitaries, including Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department Secretary Sachin Abu Bakar Siddiqui, and Chairperson of the Biodiversity Board Shailaja Singh.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of maintaining ecological balance while striving for sustainable development. Anup Mishra’s recognition highlighted the vital role of visual media in raising awareness about environmental conservation.
