Jamshedpur’s active Covid cases rise to 40 with 9 new infections

Jamshedpur, Oct 8: Covid-19 is once again on the rise in Jamshedpur. On Friday, nine people were reported positive taking the total active cases in the city to 40. Three cases each were reported from Mango and Sonari, 2 from Telco and 1 from Kadma. This is the third time this month when nine positive cases have come up in a day.  With sudden rise in cases, health department is on its toes and started screening of patients.  

Civil Surgeon Dr. AK Lal informed that 4708 samples were collected on Friday of which 4963 were tested.

Seven positive cases have come up against 1242 RTPCR test. Of the 6 TrueNat samples tested 2 were found positive.  

If this trend continues, then the third wave of Coronavirus cannot be ruled out.

With festival season round the corner, specially during Durga Puja where crowd throng markets and pandals people need to be extra cautious else it might prove to be super spreader.

The Coronavirus tally in Jamshedpur has risen to 51943.

With three fresh recoveries on Friday, a total number of 50,836 patients have been discharged since the breakout while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 40.

Recovery rate is 97.90% while mortality rate is 2.04 %.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 613690 tests per million in the district. 

So far in Jamshedpur 1647109 samples have been collected out of which 1633643 have been tested and 1581709 have turned out to be negative.
