Jamshedpur Zone dominates CISCE Regional Table Tennis Championship

Jamshedpur, Aug 5: The CISCE Regional Table Tennis Championship was hosted by DBMS English School on Friday, August 4.

The championship was held between the Patna zone and Jamshedpur zone with a total number of 54 students participating. The championship was divided into three categories, under 14 boys and girls, under 17 boys and girls and under 19 girls.

Jamshedpur Zone was declared the winner in each category.

In U-17 Boys category the winner Jamshedpur Zone comprised of  Soumil Mahato, Akshat Jyoti, Dian Singhal, Jayam Bakrewal and Luvya Agarwal.

In U-17 Girls winner Jamshedpur Zone comprised of players Archita Dey, Aadya Chauhan, Lisa Sinha, Muskan Kumari and Riya Bakrewal.

In U-14 Girls winner Jamshedpur Zone comprised of  Parleen Bhamra, Sneha Priya, Prajakta Srivastava, Ashmi Jyoti and Niharika Agarwal.

In U-14 Boys Jamshedpur Zone comprising of Sougato Mukherjee, Siddhant Panda, Satyaki Chatterjee, Ahaan Agarwal and Aditya Kumar was the winner.

Janvi Prasad, Richa Arvind Singh, Shreya Kumari, Mani Purty and Shristi Kumari represented Jamshedpur Zone in U-19 Girls event.

The winner in U-19 Boys event was Jamshedpur Zone comprising of Prathamvir Bhamra, Yash Raj Nagelia, Ishan Agiwal, Kailash Kumar and Yogya Agarwal.

Earlier, Chief Guest for the occasion was well known cricketer, Ishank Jaggi, who is also an alumnus of the DBMS English School. He inaugurated the championship,

He was accompanied by Priti Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School who is also the Zonal Co-ordinator of the Jamshedpur Zone and Rajani Shekhar, Principal of DBMS English School the treasurer of CICSE Bihar and Jharkhand region.

Members of School managing committee namely Bhanumathi Neelakantan, Patron, B Chandrashekhar, Chairperson, Archana Ramesh – Secretary, Mrs. Priya Nagarajan – Joint Secretary, Lalitha Seshadri – Treasurer were present to motivate the students.

Archita Dey, a promising player of Jamshedpur zone took the sportsman’s oath. Thereafter, the students of DBMS English School put up a welcome dance.

Rajani Shekhar, the Principal of DBMS English School addressed the gathering.  Mrs. Archana Ramesh, the Secretary of the School Managing committee and Mrs. Priya Nagrajan, Joint Secretary of the School Managing Committee presented a memento to the Chief Guest and tokens of appreciation to the various dignitaries. Thereafter, Mr Ishank Jaggi addressed the gathering by encouraging the sports persons on to the path of success.
