Jamshedpur, July 10: Family members and locals demonstrated at Burmamines police station demanding the arrest of those accused in shooting dead Shubham Kumar Singh (25), a resident of Kailash Nagar under Burmamines police station. The murder occurred late Tuesday night, with the protest taking place on Wednesday morning. The situation calmed down after DSP Sudhir Kumar assured the family of swift action. The body was then taken to Jamui for cremation.

Shubham, who worked as a computer operator for Dashmesh Transport, was allegedly shot and killed by Salil Das, the son of known criminal Manoj Das, during a liquor party. According to Shubham’s brother, Anil Kumar Singh, a dispute arose between Shubham and Salil during the party. The conflict escalated when they went to Salil’s house, where Salil, in a drunken state, shot Shubham in the head. Following the incident, Salil and his friends fled the scene.

Upon receiving the information, Burmamines police arrived and transported Shubham to MGM Hospital, where he was declared dead. The police then took the body under their custody and sent it to MGM Medical College for post-mortem.
On Wednesday morning, City SP Rishabh Garg, City DSP Sudhir Kumar, and other police officials, along with a forensic team, reached the crime scene, conducted videography, and collected evidence. The forensic team sealed the spot and gathered crucial evidence.

Anil Singh recounted that Shubham would typically return home by 10 pm after work. When Shubham did not return by 10:30 pm on Tuesday, the family began searching for him, but his phone was found switched off. The police called Anil at around 3:40 am, asking him to come to the station, where he identified Shubham from a photo. The police then sent him to MGM Hospital, where doctors confirmed Shubham’s death.
City SP Rishabh Garg stated that the murder resulted from a dispute during a party. The accused have been identified and will be arrested and brought to justice soon, the SP stated.
