Jamshedpur, Sept 20 : Criminals armed with deadly weapons attacked and killed a young man when he resisted a robbery near the Haathi Goda temple on the road from Sakchi to Mango in the wee hours today.
A Police Control Room van passing through the area rushed the injured youth to MGM Hospital, where he was declared dead. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Mahfooz Alam, a resident of Chepapul in Mango.
The deceased had been working in Kuwait and had recently returned to the city due to his father’s deteriorating health. Alam was returning home after meeting friends in Jugsalai when he was accosted by unidentified criminals near the temple who intended to rob him. When he resisted, they attacked and fatally wounded him. Police are yet to apprehend the culprits.
