Jamshedpur, Oct 6: A sensational case of suspected suicide has emerged from Mango’s Teachers’ Colony on Monday morning, where 24-year-old Abhishek Sharma was found hanging inside the house of his live-in partner.

The incident has left the locality in shock and triggered outrage among family members.

Abhishek had been in a live-in relationship for the past year with a married woman who has two children and has been living separately from her husband.

According to reports, his body was discovered hanging inside the woman’s house early Monday.

She immediately alerted Abhishek’s family, who rushed him to MGM Hospital in critical condition, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Soon after, chaos erupted at the hospital as Abhishek’s relatives blamed the girlfriend for mentally torturing him, alleging that constant harassment pushed him to take the extreme step. In a fit of anger, they tried to attack the woman, but home guard personnel intervened and brought the situation under control.

She was later taken into police custody for questioning.

Family members claimed that six months ago Abhishek had rented a flat where the couple began living together. They were reportedly together on Sunday night, and the incident came to light the following morning.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are interrogating the woman.

While preliminary findings suggest suicide, investigators are examining relationship disputes and other possible causes.

The tragic death has cast a pall of gloom and sparked anger in the neighbourhood.
