Jamshedpur, Oct 6: Before the 2025 Ghatsila Assembly by-election, District Election Officer Karn Satyarthi convened a meeting with representatives of political parties at the Collectorate auditorium to review election preparations and ensure adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Addressing the meeting, Satyarthi emphasized the importance of maintaining fairness, transparency and peace throughout the election process. He informed party representatives that the MCC came into effect immediately following the election announcement and all parties and candidates must strictly follow the Election Commission’s guidelines.

He directed that prior permission was to be obtained for organizing meetings, rallies, or processions, as well as for putting up posters, banners, or hoardings—accompanied by written consent from property owners. Campaign vehicles must be registered and all social media promotions should be shared only from verified accounts after approval from the MCMC Cell.
The officer warned against any attempts to influence voters based on religion, caste, or community and prohibited the distribution of money, gifts, or liquor. He also cautioned against the misuse of government machinery or making inflammatory remarks.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, ADM (Law & Order) Bhagirath Prasad, DTO Dhananjay, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, SDM Dhalbhum Chandrajeet Singh and DPRO Panchanan Oraon.
