Jamshedpur: Youth Urged to Become Job Creators at TICC–NSIC Entrepreneurship Meet

Jamshedpur: Calling upon young people to shift their mindset from seeking jobs to creating employment, speakers at an entrepreneurship awareness programme stressed that the future belongs to those who innovate and build businesses. The programme was organised at the Tribal Culture Centre in Sonari on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (National Youth Day).

The event was jointly organised by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and the Tribal Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TICC), with a focus on encouraging tribal youth to become self-reliant and launch their own startups.

Real Battle Is in Markets and Technology

TICC National General Secretary Basant Tirkey said that patriotism in today’s era should go beyond slogans and reflect in strengthening the country’s production capacity. “The battles of today are not fought with guns but through markets and technology,” he said.

He pointed out that opportunities in government and private sector jobs are limited, whereas entrepreneurship offers limitless potential. “Youth should aim to become employment providers instead of employment seekers,” he added.

Venture Capital Support for Tribal Entrepreneurs

Startup expert Aseem Kundalna shared detailed information about the Venture Capital Fund launched by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He said tribal entrepreneurs can avail loans ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹5 crore to expand their businesses.

He noted that the interest rate under the scheme is 4 per cent, while women entrepreneurs get a concessional rate of 3.75 per cent. A moratorium period of three years is also available for loan repayment, providing crucial support during the early stages of business growth.

Strong Participation from Young Entrepreneurs

NSIC official Pradeep Kumar, along with Raj Marshall Mardy, Joseph Kandir and other speakers, addressed the gathering. They highlighted how businesses started at a small scale can eventually support hundreds of families and contribute to local and national economic growth.

The programme saw enthusiastic participation from young entrepreneurs, reinforcing the message that entrepreneurship is a powerful path towards self-reliance, inclusive growth and long-term development.
