Jamshedpur youth drowns in Dimna Lake

Jamshedpur, April 22: A 24 year-old youth, identified as Adarsh Kumar, drowned in Dimna Lake on Friday, police said.

Sources said Adarsh had gone to the lake with his friends for running as he was preparing for an Army job. All friends decided to bathe in the lake. Adarsh, following his friends, too, went into the lake. As he did not know swimming, Adarsh remained close to the bank while his friends went in the middle of the lake. When Adarsh’s friends came to the bank, they did not find him, not knowing that he had drowned. They thought Adarsh had gone back home. After some time, they returned to the lake and found Adarsh floating dead in the lake water, sources said.

Adarsh’s family was intimated about the tragedy. Police performed an inquest at the scene and sent the body to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination.
