Jamshedpur, December 13. Vikas Kumar, living near Bagbera Gadabasa Hanuman Temple, died after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Tuesday night near Tata Pigment Gate under Jugsalai police station.
Angered by this incident, the residents along with their family members reached the police station on Wednesday morning and demanded compensation. The family members also demanded the police to check the CCTV installed near the incident site and arrest the accused driver as soon as possible.
The family members said that the post-mortem of the body would be done only after receiving compensation. However, after the persuasion of the police, everyone agreed for the post-mortem. The deceased’s companion Govind Pandey told that Vikas’s family is very poor and they do not even have money for the last rites.
It is known that bike rider Vikas Kumar died after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Tuesday night. His companion Chintu was injured. He is undergoing treatment at TMH. Both the friends were returning from Bistupur to Bagbera on a bike.
Chintu was driving the bike. His bike was hit by an unknown vehicle under the underbridge near Tata Pigment Gate.
