Jamshedpur: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 22-year-old youth, Aman Kumar, late on Tuesday night in the Telco locality of Jamshedpur. The accident occurred amid heavy rainfall, making the road slippery and treacherous.
The incident took place shortly after midnight in front of MTC (Shiksha Niketan School) on the main road. Aman Kumar, a resident of Apna Aangan Apartment in Ghorabandha and son of Ajit Kumar, was riding his Yamaha motorcycle (JH 05 DU 3191) when he reportedly lost control due to the slippery surface. The bike skidded, and Aman fell hard, suffering a fatal head injury. He died on the spot.
A security guard posted at MTC was the first to witness the incident and immediately informed Telco police station. A police team reached the spot and found Aman lying motionless in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Aman had recently completed his college education and was described by his family as a bright, friendly young man with a promising future. His sudden demise has plunged his family into grief. He was their only son.
Initial police investigation suggests that Aman was alone at the time of the accident. It is yet to be confirmed whether he was wearing a helmet. Eyewitnesses said the rain was particularly intense and the road surface extremely slippery, which likely caused the accident. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to verify the sequence of events.
Police officials indicated that a combination of excessive speed and poor road conditions during the downpour may have contributed to the fatal mishap. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.
