Jamshedpur, July 22: After the order of the state government, these days the process of admission in all the three intermediate streams of Science, Commerce and Arts is going on in the constituent colleges of the city.
A large number of students have applied for admission in the colleges of the city. It is clear from this that even after the publication of the result, a large number of students were waiting for admission in the affiliated colleges. On the other hand, Jamshedpur Workers College located in Mango used to see a good number of students coming from the city and rural areas for intermediate admission, but this time it has remained negligible. About one and a half to two times more students have applied as compared to the number of seats in city colleges. For example, if Jamshedpur Co-operative College is taken, then the total number of seats allotted there is 1064. According to the guideline, out of this, only 10 percent fewer seats are to be admitted, while the number of applicants is close to 1600.
Jamshedpur Workers College has received the least number of applications so far and the number of students taking admission is also very less.
Till now the number of students taking admission here is said to be around 350. Principal of the college Dr SP Mahalik told that this time this situation has arisen due to delay in admission. Most of the students did not wait and took admission in nearby affiliated colleges. Because of this also the admission has been affected here.
