Jamshedpur, June 22: Dr Anjila Gupta, first Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU), took charge of her office on Wednesday.

Speaking to scribes, Dr Gupta said she would strive to take Jamshedpur Women’s University to newer heights.

“Strengthening basic infrastructure of the university would be my first priority. We would soon introduce many new subjects including robotic science that would be job-oriented. Our placement cell would also be strengthened to link more students to employment locally. I have also come to know about scarcity of teachers. I would try my best to resolve this issue,” she said.

Dr Gupta was accorded a warm welcome by the students and college staff. She was earlier posted as a Professor at IGNOU, New Delhi, and before that she was the Vice Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Central University, Chhatisgarh.
